Limelight

LIMELIGHT from Ghostlight Theatricals premiered in 2009, coinciding with the launch of the Celebrity Equinox, the second Solstice-Class vessel from Celebrity Cruise Lines. LIMELIGHT was the second musical theater tribute from Ghostlight Theatricals to be performed on a cruise vessel.

With over 400 performances, more than half a million spectators, three engagement extensions, and over 7 years at sea, LIMELIGHT has brought the magic of musical theater to cruise guests around the world.

LIMELIGHT completed its performance run at sea in 2015 and has been completely updated and reconfigured for land based performances and can be seen in theaters, casinos and custom showrooms around the world. The show can adapt to several different types of unique and specialized entertainment locations, including convention centers, temporary spaces, tents, open areas, retail venues and outdoor settings.

We hope you have a chance to see the show live!

A “limelight” is an early type of stage light in which lime was heated to incandescence, producing brilliant illumination…that part of the stage upon which the limelight is cast, where the most important action is progressing and where the leading player is placed and is the focus of attention.

The dream of being in the limelight has motivated actors, singers, dancers and virtually all performers since the beginning of time. It represents being recognized as the best in your craft, and placed in the best position on stage to “show your stuff”. Achieving the pinnacle in your craft and being recognized for it requires a lifetime of dedication, practice, perseverance and even a bit of luck.

LIMELIGHT the show is set in the backstage of an old historic theater as the newly departing cast struggles to regain the dream of center stage and relive their few precious minutes in the limelight. The cast reminisces about the great shows of musical theater, reliving the magic of their past performances in the “limelight”.

LIMELIGHT the show showcases these pivotal moments in the history of these musical theater performers and their “moment” through the passionate vocal and dance performances delivered by a talented cast of amazing artists.

LIMELIGHT is available for booking for multi-week engagements worldwide. The show has been designed to perform in a theater and is best presented in this type of performance space. The show can be modified to perform in other types of venues.

LIMELIGHT is part of the 3 show “Equinox Package” from POET Theatricals. The other productions that are included with the “Equinox Package” are REMIX (a music and dance themed show) and EQUINOX (a European cirque-style theatrical circus production set in a mystical forest).

Show packages from POET Theatricals allow venues and presenters to maximize production impact inexpensively by allowing presentation of three dramatically different shows utilizing one performing cast and one preproduction expenditure. Each of the POET Theatricals’ show “packages” represents over 2.5 million dollars in capital expenditure investment in the production’s costumes, sets, flying automation, video and music.

Show packages are best used in venues that have repeat customers (casinos with strong local market draw for example), guests that are residing in the venue (vacation and destination resort hotels), or travelers that are moving from place to place with the venue (cruise ships).

POET Theatricals has the ability to “mix and match” show packages depending on audience demographics.
