EQUINOX from Circo Luci is a theatrical circus with a celestial and seasonal theme suitable for all ages.

At the precise moment, twice a year, when the sun is positioned directly above the equator, an Equinox occurs…… a cause for celebration.

On the occasion of an Equinox, the center of the Sun will spend a nearly equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on Earth, a perfect balance of night and day.

We encounter the hero of the Solstice show, Ophiuchus, as he continues his journey……..

Having gained his rightful status amongst the constellations, Ophiuchus is determined to achieve balance and harmony in his existence.

As he celebrates the vernal Equinox with a cornucopia of colorful characters, he experiences celebrations of rebirth, a time when everything is possible. When he joins in the harvest celebrations of the autumnal Equinox, the time has come to see whether the seeds of dreams and wishes that were planted many months earlier have come true.

The role of darkness and light creates pulsating rhythms in this mystical representation of struggle and opposition between the forces that brought forth illumination and rebirth from the shadow’s dominion during the winter solstice.

Discord lurks throughout the soundscape in syncopated perversions of the percussions and electric guitar but is smoothed by the ethereal reverberations of choral accompaniment, sustained strings, and enchanting woodwinds.

Ultimately, the bright staccato blasts from the trumpets converge harmoniously as the representation of the sun’s ascension to its zenith—celebrating the restoration of balance. EQUINOX.

EQUINOX from Circo Luci is available for booking for multi-week engagements worldwide. The show has been designed to perform in a theater but can also be presented in various other types of performance spaces.

EQUINOX from Circo Luci is part of the 3 show “Equinox Package” from POET Theatricals. The other productions that are included with the “Equinox Package” are REMIX (a music and dance themed show) and Limelight (a musical theater tribute production).

Show packages from POET Theatricals allow venues to maximize production impact inexpensively by allowing presentation of three dramatically different shows utilizing one performing cast and one preproduction expenditure. Each of the POET Theatricals’ show “packages” represents over 2.5 million dollars in capital expenditure investment in the production’s costumes, sets, flying automation, video and music.

Show packages are best used in venues that have repeat customers (casinos with strong local market draw for example), guests that are residing in the venue (vacation destination resort hotels), or travelers that are moving from place to place with the venue (cruise ships).

POET Theatricals has the ability to “mix and match” show packages depending on audience demographics.

The Circo Luci EQUINOX production includes the following:

Shipping requirements can be scaled depending on show size and scope of technical infrastructure required for the performance. The show can adapt to existing staging, lighting and rigging layouts. POET Theatricals’ goal is to reduce the preproduction cost and installation of the show as much as possible, and we work with presenters to trim these expenses.

Examples of shipping requirements are:

Soft Sets The EQUINOX “Soft Set” production requires cargo space of one 24’ truck or a 40’ high-cube oceangoing container (for overseas productions). This includes all of the soft goods (theatrical drops) and video projection surfaces used in the production and staging of the performance.

Full Set The “Full Set” production includes the entire hard set of the show and the “soft set”. This version includes all of the stair units, multi level sets, taiko drums and other stage elements. This version travels in two 53’ trucks or two 40’ and 1 20’ oceangoing containers (for overseas productions).

Turn-key Our “turn-key” production package adds all lighting, sound, venue required soft goods, venue rigging and staging for the show in a complete turn-key package. This additional technical support travels in 1 or 2, 53-foot tractor trailers, depending on the level of production support required for the venue.
