Solstice Show Package

The three shows included in the Solstice Show Package (Solstice, Pulse, and Ghostlight) from POET Theatricals debuted in 2008 to live audiences worldwide. In subsequent years, the shows in the Solstice Show Package have won rave audience reviews and the “best entertainment” award from Global Traveler Magazine in 2015. The live production shows in the package (Solstice, Pulse, and Ghostlight) have each been presented over 500 times to almost two million spectators in their last seven year performance run.

In addition to traditional theaters, the Solstice Show Package was designed to be performed in various types of presentation spaces including retail locations (malls for example), temporary performance spaces (including outdoor venues), convention centers, and tents.

Solstice the Show is a European-style theatrical circus about the 13th constellation looking for his rightful place among the stars.

Pulse follows a central character, the “Rhythm Man”, in his explorations of the musical pulse that drives the world to dance.

The songs from Broadway and West End musicals are performed live on stage by the cast as they reminisce their favorite performances after their last performance in an old historic theater.

The soundtrack of SOLSTICE is a reflection of the seasonal movement of the summer and winter, and is captured in a rhythmic clash between night and day. With an underscore of electro-sonic instrumentation, the soundtrack’s electric guitars and percussion clash with the chilling vocals and violins, creating a dynamic contrast of energy.
The original Solstice soundtrack was composed by Mike Meyer. Additional soundtrack compositions of the tracks Verano, Sol Sistere composed by Mike Meyer and David Edward Jensen. Studio violin performed by Kailin Yong. Alto Sax performed by Bob Robholz. Tenor Sax performed by Serafin Sanchez. Trombone performed by Nelson Hinds. Trumpet performed by Brad Goode. Guitars performed by Mike Meyer. Drums performed by Dave Tessier. Produced by Michael McPherson.

This “complete version” includes all of the physical set elements, tracking side pods, center stage pods, projection screens, multi level stage sets, brick set and all of the other elements used in the presentation of the three shows (Solstice, Pulse, and Ghostlight). This complete version of the Solstice Show Package travels in three 53-foot semi trucks or four 40-foot ocean going high cube containers.

 Technical Package

Our “turn-key” technical production package adds all of the required theatricals lighting, sound, venue-specific soft goods, rigging infrastructure (beyond the specialty performer flying winches) and staging for the shows. The equipment added in the technical support package for the Solstice Show Package ships in one or two 53-foot tractor-trailers.

Solstice Show Package has a performing cast of 18 vocalists, aerialists, dancers, comedians, and circus acts.

Traveling crew operating the shows are three persons: one front of house show operator (for sound, lighting, and media servers), one technical director and one acrobatic rigger. For longer-running shows, local crew can be trained for some of these positions if desired.

A. The Solstice Show Package is made up of three completely different live shows, Solstice the Show (a European theatrical circus show), PULSE (a percussion pop music, dance, and projected effects spectacle show), and GHOSTLIGHT (a presentation of the musical hits of Broadway and the West End in an old theater that is closing).
A. The live production shows in the Solstice Show Package are appropriate for all ages.
A. The three productions included in the package (Solstice, Pulse, and Ghostlight) were designed to adapt and perform in custom spaces, including ballrooms, tents, convention spaces, retail locations and even in outdoor spaces.
A. Load in time frames rely on venue access, but usually the installation process takes approximately two weeks. Once installed, the three different shows in the package can rotate and be ready for performance in as little as six hours.
A. There are a total of 18 performers in the production package. The entire cast of performers are in all three different production shows.
A. The performance soundtracks created for the three shows (Solstice, Pulse, and Ghostlight) were originally recorded for the shows (an original soundtrack composition for Solstice the Show, original orchestrations and studio recordings of popular hits for Pulse, and original recordings of famous Broadway and West End musicals for Ghostlight).
A. In their original format, the shows were sixty minutes in length (without an intermission). The productions can be shortened to thirty minutes (or less) if desired. The shows can be extended in some cases to full theatrical-length (ninety minutes with intermission).
A. We can easily adapt the performer flying equipment in the Solstice Show Package for a non-theater application and have done so many times in venues around the world. Our team will work with you on the safest and most economical way to install the aerial equipment into your space.
